چکیده

Regional climate model is a scientific tool to monitor present change and provide reliable estimation of future projection. In this study, the Climate Model version 4.7 (RegCM4.7) developed by International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) has been adopted simulate rainfall scenario Bangladesh. The study examines performance simulation through period 1991-2018 with ERA-Interim75 data 75 km horizontal resolution as lateral boundaries, downscaled at 25km using mixed convective precipitation scheme; MIT-Emanuel scheme over land Grell Fritsch-Chappell closure ocean. simulated compared both spatial temporal scales (monthly, seasonal annual) observed collected from Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) Research Unit (CRU). Simulated annual showed that overestimated in most years. Overestimation monsoon underestimation pre-monsoon post-monsoon seasons. Spatial distribution depicts overestimation southeast coastal region northwest northeast border regions Better found central eastern parts country. validated Linear Scaling bias correction method years 2016, 2017, 2018 considering 1991-2015 reference. linear scaling gives fairly satisfactory results it can be considered projection

Simulation of climate change in Iran during 2071-2100 using PRECIS regional climate modelling system

Parameters such as future precipitation, temperature, snowfall, and runoff were modeled using PRECIS regionalclimate modeling system in Iran with the horizontal resolutions of 0.44×0.44°C in latitude and longitude under SRESA2 and B2 scenarios. The dataset was based on HadAM3p during the periods of 1961-1990 and 2071-2100. Theoverall precipitation error of the model in the period of 1961-1990 w...

Effect of model resolution on a regional climate model simulation over southeast Australia

Dynamically downscaling climate projections from global climate models (GCMs) for use in impacts and adaptation research has become a common practice in recent years. In this study, the CSIRO Mk3.5 GCM is downscaled using the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) regional climate model (RCM) to medium (50 km) and high (10 km) resolution over southeast Australia. The influence of model resoluti...

Investigating the Mechanisms of Diurnal Rainfall Variability Using a Regional Climate Model

This study investigates the ability of a regional climate model (RCM) to simulate the diurnal cycle of precipitation over southeast Australia, to provide a basis for understanding themechanisms that drive diurnal variability. When compared with 195 observation gauges, the RCM tends to simulate too many occurrences and too little intensity for precipitation events at the 3-hourly time scale. How...

Characterization of the Simulated Regional Snow Albedo Feedback Using a Regional Climate Model over Complex Terrain

Midlatitude mountain regions are particularly sensitive to climate change because of an active snow albedo feedback (SAF). Here, the SAF is characterized and quantified over the complex terrain of the Colorado Headwaters region using high-resolution regional climate model simulations. A pair of 7-yr control and pseudo-global warming simulations is used to study the regional climate response to ...

Regional climate model simulation of summer precipitation diurnal cycle over the United States

[1] MM5-based regional climate model (CMM5) simulations of the diurnal cycle of U.S. summer precipitation are found to be sensitive to the choice of cumulus parameterization schemes, whose skills are highly regime selective. The Grell scheme realistically simulates the nocturnal precipitation maxima and their associated eastward propagation of convective systems over the Great Plains where the ...
